The basic shortcode to display SimpleMap on any post or page is

[simplemap]

There are a number of attributes you can use with the standard shortcode, these are:

  • search_title='My Custom Title' The default title is Find Locations Near:
  • sm_category='2,3,4,6' This is a comma separated list of SimpleMap Category IDs that are available on this map. sm_category replaces the older categories argument used prior to 2.3. Leave it blank or don’t include this argument to make all your SimpleMap Categories available.
  • sm_tag='2,3,4,6' This is a comma separated list of SimpleMap Tag IDs that are available on this map. sm_tag replaces the older tags argument used prior to 2.3. Leave it blank or don’t include this argument to make all your SimpleMap Tags available.
  • sm_day='2,3,4,6' This is a comma separated list of SimpleMap Day IDs that are available on this map. This feature only works if you have the optional ‘Days’ taxonomy enabled in General Settings. Leave it blank or don’t include this argument to make all your SimpleMap Days available.
  • sm_time='2,3,4,6' This is a comma separated list of SimpleMap Time IDs that are available on this map. This feature only works if you have the optional ‘Times’ taxonomy enabled in General Settings. Leave it blank or don’t include this argument to make all your SimpleMap Categories available.
  • show_sm_category_filter='0' This argument will hide the category checkboxes from your search form. It is very useful if you want to limit the categories on a single map or prevent the users from having control over which categories are searched. This argument is turned on by default (‘1’) but you may turn it off by setting its value to ‘0’.
  • show_sm_tag_filter='0' This argument will hide the tag checkboxes from your search form. It is very useful if you want to limit the tags on a single map or prevent the users from having control over which tags are searched. This argument is turned on by default (‘1’) but you may turn it off by setting its value to ‘0’.
  • show_sm_day_filter='0' This argument will hide the day checkboxes from your search form. It is very useful if you want to limit the days on a single map or prevent the users from having control over which days are searched. This argument is turned on by default (‘1’) but you may turn it off by setting its value to ‘0’. It has no effect if you do not have the optional Days taxonomy enabled in General Settings.
  • show_sm_time_filter='0' This argument will hide the time checkboxes from your search form. It is very useful if you want to limit the times on a single map or prevent the users from having control over which times are searched. This argument is turned on by default (‘1’) but you may turn it off by setting its value to ‘0’. It has no effect if you do not have the optional Times taxonomy enabled in General Settings.
  • hide_search='1' This option is completely optional. If you only have one map or all your maps have the same setting, use the ‘Display Search Form’ setting in General Options. If you want to override that setting for a single map instance, use this short code to either display the search form (‘1’) or hide the search form (‘0’).
  • hide_map='1' This argument is optional. If you don’t include it, your map will be displayed. To remove your map from being displayed, use this argument. ‘1’ is used to hide the map.
  • hide_list='1' This argument is optional. If you don’t include it, your list of locations will be displayed. To remove your list of locations from being displayed, use this argument. ‘1’ is used to hide the list.
  • default_lat='33.9569623' default_lng='-83.3725436' This is an optional pair of arguments. They override the starting point setup in General Settings for an individual map. Always use them together or you will get strange results. Leave the arguments out if you want to use the default lat/lng found in General Settings.
  • adsense_publisher_id='asf234' adsense_channel_id='asdfa234' adsense_max_ads='2' These set of arguments (3 in all) are optional. They control the ads that are overlaid on top of your map. These arguments will not do anything if you do not have the optional Google Ads for Maps feature turned on in General Settings. Additionally, it is not necessary to use this to display your ads. You may set your default ad options in Genearl Settings. This is just to override those settings for a specific map.
  • map_width='900px' map_height='400px' Use these arguments together or individually to override the default map width and map height set in General Options. Make sure to include px or % after your numerical value.
  • units='mi' Use this optional argument to override the default Map Units value found in General Settings. You currently only have two options: mi and km. Any other string will default to what’s set in General Settings.
  • radius='250' Use this optional argument to override what’s set in General Settings. Important Note: Only values found in the dropdown select box in General Settings are valid options here. There are instructions on how to add or remove values from that dropdown select in the SimpleMap Hooks KB article.
  • limit='5' Use this optional argument to override the ‘Number of Results to Display’ setting in General Options.
  • taxonomy_field_type='select' – Use this to turn the taxonomy fields into dropdowns instead of check boxes
  • zoom_level – Uses the option in Settings as default. May override with a numerical digit here.
